WHY MANCHESTER?
Manchester is a unique historic city which changed the World by being the first industrialised city -the birthplace of the Industrial revolution. Manchester is surrounded by beautiful hills and countryside: the Lake District, Peak District and mountains of North Wales. You will enjoy visiting lush green beauty spots that Britain is proud of.
WHY CONISTON?
If you want to speak a lot of English, Coniston Hall, Manchester is the place for you. We have vibrant, young, first class University of Manchester Graduates to teach and coach you in a way suited to your personal level and needs. You will be assigned a personal tutor who can help you in a practical personal way with your language progression. The Trinity College exams can be taken at the end of the course.
Following British University tradition, it is a Hall of Residence for students at Manchester University, with excellent facilities, good food, comfortable individual study bedrooms and common rooms, and beautiful large gardens where you will feel very much at home. We attract a good international mix of students and retain some British students to show you around on the outings and to have English conversation with you.
COURSE CONTENT
You will have at least 20 hours classroom teaching a week. Each of the 3 weeks will take a specific theme: Art and Literature, History and Culture, Sports etc., which is illustrated by visits, trips, tours and guest speakers, so that the ultimate effect is vivid and real, not just a textbook, academic exercise.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
As well as language and culture there is also lots of fun with sports and games, making use of the excellent facilities Manchester has to offer.
All this adds up to a unique experience of “total immersion” in a language and culture which will be very enjoyable from the moment you arrive and will be useful for the rest of your life. You will probably also make friends who you will keep for life. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
